Congratulations go to the multi-talented Paul Brill who scored the HBO documentary, "The Trials of Darryl Hunt." His score just received an Emmy Nomination, being recognized for outstanding individual achievment in a craft: Music and Sound. The final results will be announced September 22 at the Emmy Awards. Of course, the score can be found HERE on the Official Soundtrack which also features M. Ward, Andrew Bird, Dead Prez, Mark Kozelek, Califone, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and many more.

As anticipation builds over the forthcoming 'Hamsterdam: The Album' release, Darkroom Productions and the slew of featured artists are getting some love in the press. You know the Baltimore production kings have been covered in every mag and rag in the game, but now their proteges are catching some heat as well. The Fader catches up with The Get 'Em Mamis here . South's new album, "You Are Here," hits stores on April 22. The band has just announced a slew of US tour dates with label mates The Silver State as main support. Ki Theory will also join them on the road for some of the tour. Tour dates can be found on their myspace page.

The Silver State's forthcoming YAM debut "Cut and Run," is starting to tear up those crazy blogs, highlights include Puddlegum, MOKB, Ear Candy, and The Deli.

We are thrilled to announce that Brooklyn based band, The Silver State, will release their debut album, "Cut and Run," April 15th on Young American. This album was given to us by friends from Margot and The Nuclear So & So's, and as they promised it is nothing short of amazing. Speaking of Margot, in support of "Cut and Run," The Silver State will join them on tour this Spring. Stream "Letdown" here.

DARKROOM PRODUCTIONS are the producers behind the music for the HBO series, The Wire. They have self released two classic street mixtapes (Hamsterdam 1 and 2). This September Young American will release "Hamsterdam - The Album," which not only features signature Darkroom production, but a slew of Baltimore's finest artists including The Get 'em Mamis, Diablo, TestMe, and many more.

The fourth album from South is titled, "You Are Here," and will be released worldwide on April 22, 2008. South will perform at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX as well as play a few shows in New York City this March.
